Calumet Area Industrial Commission
Thee Calumet Area Industrial Commission is an industrial-membership organization.   We provide many services for employers and individuals seeking employment:
  • Apprenticeships:  CAIC can assist your organization with the development and implementation of Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship programs.  As an Intermediary for the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), we can offset the cost of tuition for your first year apprentices.
  • One Workforce Program:  Through our US Department of Labor Grant, CAIC can pay for training to upskill your current workforce through one of our community college partners.
  • On-the-Job Training Program:   Hire a candidate through CAIC and we can reimburse your company 50% of the wages you pay the employee during their training, usually 90 days.
  • One Workforce Program:  CAIC pays for tuition, books, and fees for underemployed and unemployed individuals taking manufacturing courses at one of our community college partners.
  • Manufacturing Training Bootcamp:  Join our 5-week introduction to manufacturing bootcamp to prepare you for a manufacturing job or college-level programming.
  • Job Placement Services: CAIC is your first step in achieving that manufacturing career!  We work for our member companies to connect individuals to full-time benefited positions.   CAIC will prepare you for your interview and connect you with employers who are looking for skills that you bring.
